Teacher Appreciation Week
I’ve been lucky to have some amazing teachers in my lifetime, specifically my parents who along with raising four kids are both professors at a university. My favorite school teachers (and the ones I can remember the best) are the ones who read aloud to us – a few even in high school. Clearly, I love books and having teachers spend time reading to us was pretty amazing. I was introduced to The BFG by Roald Dahl, The Giver by Lois Lowry, parts of The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne Fallen Angels by Michael Shaara and The Things They Carried by Tim O’Brien. I’ve also been blessed with some really amazing librarian mentors through my years working as a student page and during internships. All of these readers helped to shape me into the librarian and reader I am today, so thank you!
