It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? 2/8/16

I read exactly what I had planned this week, plus a few picture books thrown in!  I got the chance to read On the Run by Tristan Bancks, check out my review.  I also read The Evolution of Calpurnia Tate and The Curious World of Calpurnia Tate both by Jacqueline Kelly a turn of the century (19th to 20th century) coming-of-age story about a young girl who learns about nature and science from her granddaddy, but also realizes what it means to be a young lady in the early 1900s.

The picture books I read include:

  • Kite Day: A Bear and Mole Story by Will Hillenbrand
  • Duddle Puck: The Puddle Duck by Karma Wilson
  • Poo in the Zoo! by Steve Smallman
  • To the Sea by Cale Atkinson
  • The White Book: A Minibombo Book by Silvia Borando
  • African Animal Alphabet by Beverly Joubert
  • It’s Only Stanley by Jon Agee
  • How Rocket Learned to Read by Tad Hills
  • A Pig Parade is a Terrible Idea by Michael Ian Black
  • I’m Bored by Michael Ian Black
  • What! Cried Granny by Kate Lum
  • Cute and Cuter by Michael Townsend

This week, I started The Last of the Sandwalkers by Jay Hosler, a graphic novel about beetles.  I also have at home Symphony for the City of the Dead: Dmitri Shostakovich and the Siege of Leningrad by M.T. Anderson, The Sleeper and the Spindle by Neil Gaiman and a host of other things stacked up all around my house!
