Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Things I'm Thankful For

In no particular order, the top ten things I am thankful for this year!

  1. Family – My family is my world and even though we’re spread out across the country, I would do anything for them.
  2. Friends – I have friends too that are spread across the country and although we don’t get to see each other as often as we’d like, they are still there for me anytime I need them.
  3. Job – Not only because I have a job, but one that makes going to work so easy (usually). I adore what I do and when one of the kids in the library asked me what I would do if I wasn’t a libarian… I couldn’t think of anything!
  4. Authors & Illustrators – These men and women make being a librarian so easy – tweeting, Skyping, and being so generous with their time because they believe that books have power.
  5. Comforts – This includes the roof over my head, my car, electricity, educational opportunities all those things that sometimes get taken for granted.
  6. Service Men & Women – Thank you to all the service men and women both in the U.S. and abroad whose job it is to keep me safe.
  7. Books – I have no idea what I’d do without books – they allow me to cry when they’re sad, make me laugh when they’re funny and show me worlds that I can only imagine.
  8. My Puppy – Because as crazy as she is, when she heaves a deep sigh and snuggles up with me on the couch at night, I love it!
  9. Social Media – I debated about this, but social media really allows me to connect with people around the world that I never would have had the opportunity to before.  Plus, keeping up with friends and family makes it worth it!
  10. You – Thanks for reading my blog!  When I started this thing, I figured no one would want to read anything I have to say, but it has given me a place to share ideas, meet new people, and an outlet I never knew I wanted/needed!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Love your Top Ten list. I used to have my students do this. It was fun to see how they managed to squeeze in extras by using broad categories like you did for #5. My students were required to share it with their family at some point during the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.
