Parachute Storytime Theme: Zoo Animals

51HMmTI6C7L._SX258_BO1,204,203,200_These are some of my favorite books!  And unfortunately, I had a very small crowd to share them, I only ended up with seven kids, and I think I’m picking books that are too advanced for them.  These books would probably work really well with preschool age kids, but my group is definitely on the younger side for the most point, more at the toddler age.  Today, the kids just wanted to run underneath the parachute and get wrapped up in it when we were sharing stories.  It didn’t go as well as I would have liked, but it definitely wasn’t the worst group I’ve had by a long shot.  I’ll just try again next week (maybe with my toddler books instead!)

Early Literacy Tip: Before heading out for a trip to the zoo, check out some books about animals.  When you go to the zoo, refer back to the stories you read so kids connect what they read with the world around them!
