It's Monday! What Are You Reading? 8/24/15

2301332724999030 I don’t know what happened this week, but I got very little reading accomplished.  I was expecting to read a lot on Monday (I had the day off) but instead ended up at a pop-up concert with Stevie Wonder in Philadelphia.  It was a lot of fun, very hot, and something completely unexpected.  Other than that, I’ve been training for a 10k which leaves me exhausted at night and rather than reading, I go straight to bed.  So with that said, I read The Murdstone Trilogy by Mal Peet which will be released next month.  It was a really interesting read and not at all what I expected.  And then yesterday, I whizzed through Inbali Iserles’s story, Foxcraft: The Taken.  It is the first in a series with magic, talking animals, and more.  I’d expect some kids who enjoy fantasy would like it.  This story set up a lot, but I didn’t get a lot of answers as I’m sure more will be revealed in subsequent titles.  And that’s it – just 2 book!
Hopefully, this week will be a little better.  I plan on reading what I didn’t get to last week as well as few I’ve picked up from the library.

  • The Shrunken Head by Lauren Oliver
  • Currents by Jane Petrlik Smolik
  • Book Scavenger by Jennifer Chambliss Bertman
  • The Education of Ivy Blake by Ellen Airgood
  • Shadowshaper by Daniel José Older
