It's Monday! What Are You Reading? 8/10/15
I’m really proud of myself for getting so much reading done in the past few weeks and this week I was able to read four more books. Project Alpha is reminsicent of The 39 Clues series – with a fairly fast-paced storyline and characters you’re rooting for. This series will definitely be a option for reluctant readers, especially those looking for a quick, action-packed read. Whippoorwill, is a book I received at BEA and I told the woman working at the Houghton Mifflin Harcourt publisher’s booth that I couldn’t read the book if the dog died at the end. She convinced me to read the book and it was really good, but just beware you’ll probably cry. Lizard Radio was a very different type of book and it’s one where you get dropped right into the story, but you learn the setting quickly. It’s a great novel for LGBT because the main character doesn’t identify as a girl or boy. And finally, I also finished A Little in Love a story based on the character Eponine from Victor Hugo’s Les Miserables. It was a fascinating historical fiction, romance story.
I’m really working my way through my books from BEA, and I’ve got a couple more planned for this week:
- Clayton Stone, At Your Service by Ena Jones
- I Crawl Through It by A.S. King
- The Murdstone Trilogy by Mal Peet
- Young Man with Camera by Emil Sher
