It's Monday, What Are You Reading? 6/8/2015
I got a lot read this past week and am excited about a few other books for this upcoming week! And then, next Monday, all heck breaks loose as Summer Reading officially begins! (I’m not quite ready yet!) Anyway, this week I read The Detective’s Assistant by Kate Hannigan – a historical fiction story about the first female spy in the Pinkerton Agency. I also read Lost in the Sun by Lisa Graff, a book I highly recommend. It’s the story of a boy trying to forget a most tragic accident who is befriended by an outcast who shows him that he can move forward. It’s a truly powerful story. I also re-read Curveball: The Year I Lost My Grip by Jordan Sonnenblick who will be visiting our library in a few weeks. I’ll be doing a book discussion next week on the book and needed a quick refresher. And, I just began Nimona a graphic novel by Noelle Stevenson, per a suggestion by a librarian friend.
This week, I’ve got The Great Good Summer by Elizabeth Garton Scanlon awaiting me to read – should be pretty quick at 218 pages, as well as a Netgalley book called Piper Green and the Fairy Tree by Ellen Potter due out on August 4th. I also have Saving Mr. Terupt by Robert W. Bunyea on Netgalley as well as Fuzzy Mud by Louis Sachar. It’s a fairly mild week at work as we finalize our summer reading plans and make sure everything is ready for next week, so I’m hoping I can get a lot of reading done in the evenings!

I just finished reading Are You Experienced? by Sonnenblick and The Fog Diver by Joel Ross. And I’m going to start on Escape from Mr. Lemoncello’s Library since I haven’t read it yet! I also have to read I Am Malala for the book discussion.
