I LOVE my Job!
The other day I received a piece of mail from a friend who is also a Kindergarten teacher. Her students have been learning about community helpers and a little girl in her class wanted to send a librarian a letter and this is what I received:
First off, I was fairly impressed with this child’s writing for the end of kindergarten and although I’m sure she had help with the spelling, I was impressed by her it as well. The back of the letter has this colorful drawing of what she thinks I do everyday… fairly accurate if you ask me, especially because I am a reference librarian! I thought this was the sweetest note and it was an unexpected piece of mail that just brightened my day. I typed up a letter for her (encouraging her to sign up for summer reading!) and mailed it back using the library’s letterhead which I hope makes her feel really important, plus it never hurts to write thank you notes to kids, I think it’s a lost art! I love my job and know that what I do is important, but it’s nice to be recognized too!
