It's Monday, What Are You Reading? 5/18/2015
As the weekend nears, I always think I’ll have a lot of time to just sit and relax and catch up on my reading, but that’s never the case! I ended up this weekend, hanging out with friends, planting vegetables in the garden and volunteering some time at a nature preserve – that being said, I didn’t get much reading done (again!). This week, I finished Gone Crazy in Alabama by Rita Williams-Garcia and it was probably my favorite of the Gaither Sisters trilogy. I also read Moonpenny Island by Tricia Springstubb which was a beautiful story about friendship, family and the trials of growing up. I also snuck in a few more graphic novels – Save Yourself the first volume in Princeless by Jeremy Whitley which is a kick-butt girl story about a princess that doesn’t feel the need to be rescued by a prince, rather she’ll rescue her sisters from their towers. I also read another kick-butt girl story – No Normal by G. Willow Wilson, the first volume of Ms. Marvel. And I’m currently reading Dangerous by Shannon Hale, I was able to finish about a third of it this weekend, but didn’t get to finish it.
With Memorial Day coming up this weekend, I want to read as much as I can over the holiday weekend, but since I’ll be visiting family, I’m sure it will be less than I’d like. I’ll definitely finish Dangerous, I’m going to read Secrets of the Sky Caves: Danger and Discovery on Nepal’s Mustang Cliffs by Sandra K. Athans, and other than that, I’m waiting for a few books from ILL to come in:
- Pieces and Players by Blue Balliett
- The Clockwork Scarab: A Stoker & Holmes by Colleen Gleason
- The Detective’s Assistant by Kate Hannigan
- Saint Anything by Sarah Dessen
- Lost in the Sun by Lisa Graff
I’m hoping a few things come in so I can take the with me for the weekend!

I’ve been trying to alternate between reading newer books and older ones from a couple of years ago that I missed out from before I was working. So I finished I’ll Give you the Sun this past week and I’m now finally in the middle of Wonder!
