As promised from last week, I was able to finish both All the Answers by Kate Messner and Fish in a Tree by Lynda Mullaly Hunt.  I’ll talk about both of these in individual posts – they were both that good!  I also finished two adult books – The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt and The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins, both which were recommended to me by my coworker.  The Girl on the Train because she absolutely loved it and is telling everyone she knows and The Goldfinch because she wasn’t sure how she felt about it and wanted me to read it so we could discuss it.  (Loved Girl on the Train, really didn’t like Goldfinch but felt compelled to know what happened in the end)
This week, I’ve got a number of books on my TBR list.  The first, The Port Chicago 50: Disaster, Mutiny, and the Fight for Civil Rights by Steve Sheinkin which just won School Library Journal’s 2015 Battle of the Kids’ Books.  Also on my list – Echo by Pam Muñoz Ryan, Mark of the Thief by Jennifer A. Nielson and Michaela DePrince’s biography, Taking Flight: From War Orphan to Star Ballerina.
I’m really excited to have a new reading nook, we finished working on our office – painting, buying furniture, etc. this weekend, so now I have a great reading chair, perfect lighting, a really great play to hang out and read lots of new great books!
