Fore! Mini-Golf in the Library
Today we have an eighteen hole miniature golf course set up throughout the library as a fundraiser. Community members are able to stop by at any point from 10:00 am – 5:00 pm to play a round of golf. The cost for patrons to play is $5/person; $10/family; and $15/groups of 4 – 6. We also received sponsorships for area businesses and organizations for each individual hole.
Overall, the fundraiser has been a long time coming, we’ve been planning for about six months, marketing for two months, and the set-up itself took a number of hours on Friday and Saturday morning, but we’ve gotten a lot of great comments from our regular patrons who love the library and its programs and really support what we do. We’ve had a lot of help from all of our staff, our teen and tween volunteers and couldn’t have done it without everyone!
We’re hoping to earn a little money from the fundraiser and may even offer this type of program again in the future as the library’s annual fundraiser. It’s been a lot of work and I hope that we will have learned from this experience and be able to make it an even smoother process in the future.
