Miss Laura's Favorites #4

I focused this week’s books on very simple books that the kids could “read” with me.  It’s not too much of a theme, but the kids loved it!  I don’t know if the kids truly got Duck Duck Moose, but they loved shouting out duck and moose as we read it together.  It’s inveveitable that I always have that kid who wants to let the pigeon drive the bus, and they always answer yes… always.  And if you’ve never done Where is the Green Sheep? you don’t know what you’re missing.  It’s a very simple concept, but the kids love it every single time I use it.  The kids had a great time with this storytime, a few meltdowns – we’re so sick of the snow here!  But otherwise, we made it and I’ve gotten most of the group hooked on Bananas Unite (which is awesome!)

Early Literacy Tip: There are great picture books available that have very few words that your children can “read” with your help! Ask a librarian to help you find a few!
