Preschool Parachute Storytime

ql-123_1zMy preschool parachute storytime has 25 children registered with four on the waiting list and this is my third week in storytime… with only 5-8 kids.  I have no idea where everyone else is?!?!?!  The kids that did show up had a lot of fun with our construction themed storytime and parachute activities.  I tried something new with creating the “mushroom” effect using the parachute and it kind of worked, but the kids had a lot of fun trying.  This group is really great at listening to directions and even knows to stop shaking the parachute when I yell “freeze!”    Overall, I think the kids liked Go! Go! Go! Stop! the best and in the middle of the book I even had an older sibling ask “Where is the yellow one?” which I thought was awesome!  We’ve got two more storytime weeks to go and I’m hoping for a little bit of a larger crowd, but it is nice to see some families that I don’t normally see at storytime during this day and time.  I know the kids are getting something out of it and they’re having fun too, so I can’t ask for too much more!
