NYPL’s 100 Titles for Reading and Sharing 2014

6 Jan

I’m currently working my way through the New York Public Library’s Children’s Books 100 Titles for Reading and Sharing 2014.  I’ve read a number of the books already, but I figured it would be a great start to the new year to work towards these 100 books.  I’m almost finished with the picture books and have started working on “Stories for Younger Readers” (for children ages 6 – 8).  I like this list because it provides picture books, early chapter books, middle grade novels, graphic novels, folktales and fairy tales as well as poetry and nonfiction.  It’s got a wide-range of books from a number of genres which is my reading goal for the year.  I’m hoping that many of these titles also cross over to the CYBILS and Nerdy Book Awards so that I can say I’ve covered my basis for 2014 literature.  Here’s to a lot of reading in my future!

It looks like a really good list. I’m going to try and get through some of it too!
