Countdown to Noon Party
Well, that was a success! We ended up with about 75 people for our first ever Countdown to Noon Party. It was a little chaotic, but I think the families really appreciated it. It probably could have been even busier, but we capped the kid count at 55 to ensure we had enough supplies for everyone.
The kids had the chance to make noisemakers using 8 oz. water bottles, dyed rice, lentils, and barley. They also got the chance to decorate their own party hat with stickers, markers, and foam shapes. Then they were given the chance to strike a pose in our photo booth area with tablecloths hanging from our book shelves, and simple props that I found here.
A few minutes before noon we gathered everyone together, gave out blowers, made sure noisemakers were ready to go and did a fun countdown with the Netflix 3-minute video featuring Madagascar’s King Julien. The kids loved counting down, we had a balloon drop and everyone shouted “Happy New Year!” After our balloon drop, the kids got a quick snack and finished any of the activities they hadn’t completed yet.
Although our party took quite awhile to set up, clean up wasn’t too bad and a few moms were kind enough to lend a hand. I used a new copy to order balloons, blowers, and bubbles (which we forgot to hand out!) called Wholesale Party Supplies. I was very happy with our purchases and they were shipped very quickly! Highly recommend this company! Overall, our crowd had a great time and since I’m still getting over a doozy of the cold, this may count as my New Year’s celebration too!
I wish everyone a safe and happy 2015!

Glad you had so much fun! We had our “Noon Years Eve” party this morning too. We started out with a story, then we played New Years Eve bingo and the kids won books donated by the Friends of the Library. Beginning at 11:30 we passed out a variety of party props every five minutes (between bingo games) until we reached noon. First was the party hats/tiaras, then the party leis, then the party horns (oh my), and finally the bubble wrap! This was a huge hit!! Oh, they also used pom-poms as markers for their bingo games. At “Noon” they all jumped up and down on their bubble wrap mats, threw their pom-poms in the air, and blew their horns! We had so much fun! Happy New Year!

Happy 2015 (only a little early!) Your party sounds awesome! I was trying to think how we could change it up if we decide to do it again next year – now I’ve got some great ideas! Thanks for sharing!
