Story Time Theme: Orange

3 Nov

picture-241I don’t know what’s been going on, but my story times have been absolutely crazy all season long!  Last week, I had eight kids – it was absolutely nuts!  This week, I probably had close to 20 kids and even more crazy.  I think the biggest issue this session is that I have a couple kids who throw off the balance of the whole group mixed with many parents/caregivers who don’t seem to be willing to participate in story time.  I have had to say multiple times, “Adults – story time is for everyone, let’s all participate, please!” But to almost no avail!  Granted, I do have a few parents, who are amazing role models for their kids and seem to be having a great time, but many look as if the whole thing is a big inconvenience to them!  It’s fascinating!

That being said, the kids really enjoyed Pumpkin Trouble by Jan Thomas – and liked it even more when a duck appeared during our “Shake Your Sillies Out” puppet show, wearing a pumpkin costume!  They could barely contain their giggles!  Our theme for next week – the color RED!
