Cybils Nominations
Nominate your favorite books published between October 16, 2013 and October 15, 2014 in the following categories:
- Young Adult Non-fiction
- Young Adult Speculative Fiction
- Young Adult Fiction
- Poetry
- Book Apps
- Middle Grade Fiction
- Elementary/Middle Grade Speculative Fiction
- Elementary/Middle Grade Non-fiction
- Fiction Picture Books
- Graphics
- Easy Reader/Short Chapter Books
for the Ninth Annual Children and Young Adult Bloggers’ Literary (Cybils) Awards. The books will be judged in two rounds by judges selected by the Cybils powers-that-be. During the first round of judging, a shortlist will be made available during late December. This is where the second group of judges picks up narrowing these few titles down to a winner for each category.
What I love about the Cybils is that fact that the books are judged by other bloggers – not necessarily by a committee with very strict rules of what can and cannot win an award. The Cybils is much more open and accessible allowing them to highlight some books that don’t receive major literary awards.
Definitely take a few minutes to check out their website and see what has been nominated already this year. I’ve nominated a few, happy to see that many of the titles that I feel are strong titles this year have already been nominated by someone else! I’m excited to see the shortlists and the final award winners later this year and early next year! Good luck to all the authors!
