Book Review: The Selection

the_selection_book_coverLooking for a quick read?  The Selection is the perfect choice.  A chick-lit, YA book, I read the whole thing in almost one sitting as it was a quick and very easy read.  America Singer wants very little in her young life, to continue singing and playing instruments and the chance to marry her true-love, a boy in the caste below her own.  But all that changes when she is chosen during the selection to be one of 35 girls from around the country to compete to become the next princess.  Not only that, but by just being a part of the competition, America’s family receives financial support that they desperately need.  Will America leave everything she has behind, including the boy she loves for a chance to wear fancy dresses and marry the prince?
And don’t forget to read the sequel, The Elite!
