Turn Left at the Cow

Turn Left at the Cow

What do you get when you combine a runaway teen to Grandma’s, a football star, a love interest, and the missing cash from a bank bugulary from many years ago? Turn Left at the Cow. When Travis leaves his in-love mom and new stepdad in California for his grandma’s house in real Minnesota, he never thought he’d be caught up in a mystery surrounding a bank heist his father was a part of so many years ago. But that’s exactly what happens when Travis meets his next-door neighbor, Kenny and his cute cousin Isabella, who is looking for the cash to get the reward. But, when the fun becomes dangerous as someone threatens Travis and his friends, Travis must decide who he can trust and how far he’s willing to go.

This is a fun, suspenseful coming-of-age mystery about friendship, family and learning about where you’ve come from. I would definitely recommend this novel to 7th graders and up – there is a little bit of romance interest and kissing between characters, but nothing that would be a serious cause for concern. This is an easy read and a perfect sell to boys and girls in upper middle school and young teens.
