Xander’s Panda Party

This is a must read!  Xander’s Panda Party is an adorable rhyming book with beautiful watercolor pictures about the importance of friendship and including everyone!  Linda Sue Park is probably one of my favorite authors of children’s literature, she has written a number of middle grade novels such as A Single Shard, A Long Walk to Water as well as a few books in the 39 Clues series.  She is an extremely talented author and I’m so excited by this new book.  Matt Phelan, the illustrator, is no less talented with books including The Storm in the Barn, Around the World and Bluffton.

Xander wants to have a party, but he’s the only panda in the zoo, so he decides to invite all the bears, then all the mammals, then birds, reptiles, and finally he invites the entire zoo including the people visiting!  The illustrations are beautiful with light watercolors and so much expression for each and every animal!  This would be a beautiful book to share with young children before visiting the zoo!
