C. R. Mudgeon

With a  title like that, who could resist this book!  C.R. Mudgeon is a hedgehog who knows what he likes and likes what he knows, that is until a new neighbor moves in upstairs and his whole world gets turned around!

Paprika the squirrel likes bright colors, spicy food, and mariachi bands and soon its too much for C.R., but when Paprika gets sick, C.R. knows just what to do!  And he learns a little spice in life is just what he needs!

The underlying theme of this story is about accepting people who are different from yourself and being open to trying new things.  This is a great story to open up conversation with a  preschool or even early elementary school class about friendship.
The illustrations show just how different the two characters are with dark subtle colors for C.R. and bright cheery colors for Paprika.  This is one you’ll definitely want to pull off the library shelf!
