The Story of Fish & Snail
The Story of Fish & Snail written and illustrated by Deborah Freedman is a beautifully told story about friendship in a new and unique way. “Every day, Snail waits for Fish to come home with a new story.” But one day, Fish wants to be able show timid Snail a new story, tempers flare and soon Fish has gone exploring in a new story – without Snail.
As our story opens the illustrations how an open book that span the pages, slowly you get sucked into Fish & Snail’s story, until that fateful moment when their anger gets the better of them. In the end, friendship triumphs over all and timid Snail becomes brave Snail and adventurous Fish makes amends. This is a beautifully written story about the importance of friendship and compromise.
This would be a great read-aloud for two people to do together! It would also make a great one-on-one story and an opening to a discussion on how to be a good friend.
