Story Time Theme: Seahorses
I wanted to do a beach/ocean theme for summer, but I’ve done something similar each summer for the past couple of years, so I thought I’d mix it up a little. My traditional story time on Monday was pretty wild (I have a number of children who have trouble sitting for the story and listening), but my Parachute group loved the stories and did really well!
In the Sea worked really well because I didn’t read every poem about each animal, some pages we just talked about the animal instead. The Eric Carle story, Mr. Seahorse, was a little long so I took the liberty of cutting out lines in order to get through the whole story, and the kids loved trying to find the seahorse in The Secret Seahorse.
