Wonder & Wonderfilled

Palacio.  It’s probably one of my favorite books of all time, which is not easy for me to say because I love so many books!  If you haven’t seen the commercial yet, take a look on YouTube.  Owl City recorded the music for the commercial and the whole commercial is absolutely adorable with characters typically of the bad variety including the big bad wolf, a vampire, and sharks, but if someone were to give them an Oreo, would their stories change?  As if choosing to be kind to a person might make their reaction to you or others, kind as well.

What I can’t stop thinking about is the book, Wonder.  The commercial uses the same blue color as the cover of the book with a similar type of font as well!  Oreos might make the perfect snack (and extension activity) to a book discussion about Wonder.  Choosing kindness rather than judging a character by their looks.  It makes me pause and wonder if that was intended or just a coincidence, what are your thoughts?
