Ribbit!

Ribbit! written by Rodrigo Folgueira and illustrated by Poly Bernatene is an adorable story of friendship that will definitely be on my  list for story time in the summer.  One morning a family of frogs wakes up to find a pink pig sitting happily on a rock.  The little pig lets out a loud “RIBBIT!” and the frogs become very confused.  And then annoyed.  And soon all the animals have come to see the little pink pig with his loud “RIBBIT!”  It isn’t until the frogs decide to visit the wise old beetle that they realize this little pig just wants to make some new friends.  But is it too late?

The storyline and illustrations are absolutely adorable and this might be one of my new favorites to share!  It has a great message to young children, but is also a lot of fun to read.  Definitely check this one out the next time you’re at a library or bookstore.
