Story Time Theme: Owls
There are some really great owl books out there and I couldn’t help myself, I just had to do a story time with an owl theme. The great thing about the owl books that I found is that there are a number of great toddler books and some great preschool books too! Because of the short amount of time I had, I chose some of the shorter books, but there are a few others I would love to use as well.
Opening: Open, Shut Them
Meet Tortuga (turtle puppet)
Book 1: A Book of Sleep by Il Sung Na
Flannel Board: 5 Little Owls
**Storytime Katie (a great blog to follow!) did an adorable owl flannel board that I replicated for my kids!
Book 2: Little Owl’s Night by Divya Srinivasan
Interactive Song: Going to Kentucky (with shaker eggs)
Book 3: Wow! Said the Owl by Tim Hopgood
Closing: The Wheels on the Bus
