Book Love: Help Your Child Grow from Reluctant to Enthusiastic Reader

book-love-imageBook Love: Help Your Child Grow from Reluctant to Enthusiastic Reader by Melissa Taylor is a quick resource guide with some great ideas to do just what the title says, to get a reluctant reader to become an enthusiastic reader.  Under 150-pages, I read this book from cover to cover in less than an hour and it had some great information for parents of children from kindergarten to 2nd grade especially.  It focuses on this age group where children are learning how to read and either may be bored, having difficulties, or parents need some new ideas to keep their kids excited about practicing reading.

For any parents who need a quick reference guide, written by a teacher and in an easy to read font and format – this is the book for you.  It’s also a great resource to have on hand in libraries and schools for teachers, aides, librarians, and again parents.   The book also contains a GREAT reading list in the back filled with easy readers, early-chapter books, and chapter books.  I was so excited to see such an up-to-date list books published within the last year!  Some of my favorite books made the list.  Check out Melissa Taylor’s blog, Imagination Soup for some more  great ideas and resources for creating a book-rich environment for young children.
