Boy + Bot

I’ve seen a lot of blogs posting about this adorable picture book called Boy + Bot written by Ame Dyckman and illustrated by Dan Yaccarino, so I thought I’d take a look and thankfully I was able to find the book on the shelf today.

Boy + Bot is a heartwarming story of friendship between a young boy and a robot.  They play together until the robot’s power switch gets accidentally turned off.  What should the boy do?  The boy takes the robot home to take care of him, only to have the roles reversed later that evening. 

This is a great way to introduce what it means to be a friend to young children – especially illustrating how your differences can strengthen your friendship.  I absolutely loved this story with its bright pictures done by internationally acclaimed Dan Yaccarino.
