Lunch Lady and the Cyborg Subsitute

9780375946837Lunch Lady and the Cyborg Substitute is the prefect start to a series of books for reluctant readers – especially elementary school-age boys.  Jarrett Krosoczka’s graphic novel format works perfectly for reluctant readers with minimal text and a lot of action.  The plot line follows the lunch lady and her assistant as she prevents the substitute teacher (who is actually a robot) from taking over the school!

With less than 100 pages, the lunch lady’s antics are funny, entertaining, and exciting for readers and definitely something they can relate to at school!  As I said if you have any reluctant readers, who are uncomfortable with large chapter books, or have difficulty reading  – this series is a perfect place to start!

And if you like the first one, check out the others in the series!  For more information about Krosoczka and his unlikely superhero, Lunch Lady, check out his website!
