I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed this young adult book. This is a fun, summer reader for kids (especially girls) in 7th grade and up. It’s a romantic story about a girl named Luce Price who is sent to Sword & Cross boarding school for a history that she doesn’t want to disclose to anyone because everyone she has told, doesn’t believe her. There’s something familiar about Daniel Grigori, but he clearly wants nothing to do with her because he has his own secrets. This story reminded me a little of the Twilight series with the supernatural angle and I’m planning on reading the second book. The story has a basic plot and is geared toward teenage girls with the romantic plot, but it was an entertaining book nonetheless and girls will definitely enjoy this quick summer read!
