May the Fourth be With You!

Happy International Star Wars Day everyone! May the Fourth be With You! I was watching the news this morning at the gym and lo and behold it’s Star Wars Day and I didn’t even know about it!  It’s very interesting to me that a movie series that was released in the 1970s is still so popular – not only among adults and teens, but among young kids as well!

Our library has a bunch of easy readers for young children about Stars Wars and what is interesting is that some books are based on The Clone Wars cartoon, but many are based on the original movies done in the 70s and 80s and the kids love them!  They barely stay on the shelf!  They we have a couple of chapter book Star Wars series and some books about the movies as well!  This may not be all that surprising when you look at video games and Legos – Star Wars is definitely sticking around and helping boys especially find something they want to read!
