Found

I finally got around to reading the first book in The Missing series – Found by Margaret Peterson Haddix.  I definitely need to read the second one – I couldn’t put it down!  Granted, I really enjoy Haddix’s writing.  Her books are fast-paced with interesting plot lines and characters.

In Found a plane lands at the airport – not necessarily unusual, until people begin to realize there is no pilot, no flight attendants, and no one is really sure where it came from.  Even more weird…. there are 36 passengers, all of them infants.  It’s a great beginning that really sucks in the reader.  From then on the book is full of mystery, time travel, and more.

This is great book to give to middle school boys who like science fiction, adventure, and fast-paced stories.  The main character and best friend are both boys, which is also a draw for young male readers.  And once you pick up the first one, you’ll want to read Sent, Sabotaged, and Torn as well.
